An excerpt from a recent phone conversation I had at the airport

Friend: "So Election Day this week...you going to vote?

Me: "I'm going to be in Toronto, and I forgot to do the whole absentee thing...so no"

Friend: "Yeah, I'm not sure who I'm voting for...I'm not very informed"

Me: "Well, it's been my experience that when in doubt, vote Republican"

Friend: "But isn't that irresponsible, when you don't know much about the
candidate?"

Me: "Not as irresponsible as voting democrat."

Sorry Blagojevich.

Unfortunatley the city of Chicago has again elected Blago to be governor for the entire state. Topinka won the rest of the state in a landslide.

When is Chicago going to become its own state and leave the rest of us alone?

Oops...I misspelled 'unfortunately' in my sadness over the state of the state of Illinois.

Blago should be indicted soon and then I'll feel a little better.

Topinka sucked, too. I didn't vote for either of these clowns. The Illinois Republicans are fools for putting her out there and they deserve to lose.

Yeah, she sucks, but she was the lesser of two evils.

Yeah, it really sucked that these were the only two candidates that the state could offer. I mean we're talking about the freakin' Governor here. Blago sucks, but Topinka is just plain crazy. The Republicans had an excellent chance to steal this away, and they gave us Topinka? It says a lot that the Whitney guy got 11%.

Phil, I forgot to mention that the conversation you had with your friend also sucked.

Teresa, are you back in Illinois?

Silly John, I've been back in Illinois since I got married in August of 2003. We (unfortunately) live in the Chicago suburbs these days.

You should have come to the wedding :)

We all have to use our brains when the Bible is silent. But, the Bible is clear about its view of children. So, I cannot vote for any fool who will not work to make abortion illegal. I can do "the lesser of two evils" on illegal immigration, taxes, etc. but not abortion. I hope IL Republicans will get the message if more Christians vote this way.
